Grands Prix du Design awards

In the fifth edition of the Grands Prix du Design awards, a competition for Quebecs interior designers and architects, two awards were presented to Provencher Roy + Associs architectes for the Claire and Marc Bourgie Pavilion of Quebec and Canadian Art at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts: the 2011 Project of the Year and the Public Space award in the public and institutional space category.

Prix d'excellence en immobilier 2011 - Catégorie à caractère commercial

Le gagnant, Provencher Roy + Associés Architectes avec la transformation
et reconversion de l'Église Erskine & American en musée d'art québécois
et canadien, s'est démarqué notamment par sa réflexion architecturale
poussée, son intégration urbaine exceptionnelle, son design mariant
le passé et le futur. Les jurys ont beaucoup aimé également, leur volonté
de conserver et de restaurer, respectant les principes du développement
durable.

Awards of Merit - Provencher Roy + Associés Architectes for the Canadian
Art Pavilion, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal in Montreal, Quebec

Canadian Architect announces the winners of the 2010 Awards of Excellence,
given each year to architects and architectural graduates for buildings
in the design stage. One of only two national award programs devoted
exclusively to architecture, the Awards of Excellence have recognized
significant building projects in Canada on an annual basis since 1968.

This year's winners have been selected by a jury consisting of Janna
Levitt of Levitt Goodman Architects in Toronto, James Cheng of James
KM Cheng Architects in Vancouver, and Andrew King of Cannon Design.

SOCIÉTÉ DES MUSÉES QUÉBÉCOIS
La Société des musées québécois (SMQ) a décerné son prix Excellence
au Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal (MBAM) pour l’exposition
Le verre selon Tiffany : la couleur en fusion.

Dans un communiqué, la société souligne que les membres du jury
étaient unanimes à dire que cette exposition avait largement dépassé
les standards élevés du milieu muséal.
